The Spamming of America
As Geroge W. signs an anti-spam bill today in Washington that will have little if any effect on deceptive spam, and no effect on those emails from Nigerians who need your help in claiming a million dollars, one wonders how Dick Cheney will wriggle out of having to publicize the bawdy details of White House meetings where the former Halliburton CEO conferred with Ken Lay the nation's energy policy before the Supreme Court. Cheney and the Bush Administration are claiming executive priviledge, but that principal seems merely a moveable feast depending on who is in power. If for every Watergate Tape there must be a Lewinsky Scandal, then why shouldn't we hold the Haliburton-Enron Energy Pact up for scrutiniy as well? I'm sure it will be as dirty as The Starr Report.
