He's at it Again - McCain Condemns Bushies' Choice of Election Tactics
In a replay of the 2000 election, the Bush team turns to a tactic that effectively drove wild-card senator John McCain to defeat during the Republican primary race - attacking its opponent's Vietnam record. In a PR campaign to assassinate the character of John Kerry while promoting the book "Unfit for Command," co-written by the Democratic candidate's 30+ year arch-nemisis John O'Neil, a scathing TV spot was produced by GOP firm Steven Reed Curio & Potholm. Kerry campaign HQ requested stations not run the ad since it makes claims by people who never even served with Kerry. Seantor McCain who is campaigning for the Repoublican ticket but continues to abstain from going after Kerry, defends his party's opponent, calling the ad "dishonest and dishonorable ... I think the Bush campaign should specifically condemn the ad." Seeing the reprots today regarding the job numbers for the last month of only 32,000, the unemployment rate inching down hardly .1%, and at least two major battles going on currently in Iraq, one with Al Sadr Shii'a and another with the Sunni Nationalists, its plain enough to see with the election barely three months away the current administration will desperately take whatever help they can get.
