US Continues Slouch towards Orwell
The law would require someone seeking a new or renewed license to have a document showing the person's name and date of birth, such as a birth certificate; a document verifying the person's legal presence in the U.S.; a photo ID; proof of a valid Social Security number and evidence of a current address, such as a utility bill.
That would mean more identification would be required for a driver's license than for a U.S. passport, for which a photo ID like a driver's license and proof of citizenship, typically a birth certificate, are needed.
